Frequently Asked Questions
Do you provide transportation?
Transporation can be arranged through charter van services ($40/hour). If you are registering for one of our scheduled ecotours, Coastal Revelations will meet you at the starting location. If you are booking a private tour, your guide will meet you at the location of your choice. Bringing your own vehicle to the trailhead provides you with maximum flexibility at the end of the day. Step on tour guide service is also available in your vehicle.
Do I have to be physically fit to go on a nature tour?
When you book a tour, Coastal Revelations will work with you to find the tour most suited to your physical ability. Our tours include easy, level paths to thigh-burning alpine adventures. Discuss any limitations or preferences you have with our experts.
What should I bring?
Besides your enthusiasm, bring along a daypack filled with water, sunscreen, a hat, a raincoat, sunglasses, snacks, personal items, and a camera with extra film. If your tour requires hiking boots, make sure you've broken them in! Flat walking shoes with sturdy soles are suitable for most of our shorter easy hikes. Weather can change quickly in the mountains. Bring layers of clothing for flexible insulation options.
Should I bring food?
Depending on the length of your tour, you should bring a snack or a lunch. Check with Coastal Revelations if you are uncertain.
What about insurance?
Coastal Revelations is a fully insured company and requires all participants to sign a liability waiver before participating in one of our tours. In addition, individual travellers are advised to obtain their own personal health, luggage or other travel insurance as desired.
What is the difference between chartered and scheduled tours?
Each year Coastal Revelations schedules weekly tours that run at predetermined times. For those who prefer personal service, we also provide customized private tours and hire-your-own naturalist services guaranteed to fit your pace, interests and abilities. Speak to one of our guides to learn more about these options.
