Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach, also known Surf City is the spiritual home of surfing.  The city boasts a surfing museum and has a Hollywood-style stars on the sidewalk, commemorating the stars of surfing over the years.

The place is more lively than Newport Beach and perhaps a little more up-market.

Wide clean beaches, dotted with people and life guard towers is perhaps everyone's idea of a Californian beach.  If so then Huntington certainly lives up to the image.

Plenty of pay-and-display parking can be found along the coast line through Huntington Beach on CA-1, the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH).

You may be lucky to catch a craft fair next to the pier . . .

Surf City

The Pacific Coast Highway constructed in 1925, opened up access to 8-1/2 miles of virgin beach and ushered in the city's gradual transition to "Surf City."

By the 50's and 60's, Huntington Beach had become the fastest growing city in the nation. Today a population of approximately 200,000, the city is world renowned for its surfing and is becoming a destination attraction.
