ITINERARY

Day 1 - Exmouth to Karijini NP
We head off early towards the remote but spectacular Karijini National Park. After lunch, we call in at the mining town of Tom Price to pick up supplies for our 2 nights camping in Karijini. In the afternoon, we hike into Joffre Falls, an unusually carved wall forming a natural amphitheatre, where we enjoy a cool swim before heading to camp for a hearty dinner. Overnight camp Karijini. (LD)

Day 2 - Karijini NP & Miracle Mile
We start the day at Oxer Lookout, checking out Junction Pool where 4 gorges meet. We then take on the challenge of the ‘The Miracle Mile’. This adventurous hike includes inching your way over ledges, squeezing through deep chasms eroded billions of years ago, climbing banded iron rock walls and swimming in fresh water rock pools and takes us through Hancock Gorge, Weano Gorge and Junction Pool. In the afternoon we give our legs a well-earned rest and visit the Karijini Cultural Centre, which is full of local and aboriginal information. Overnight camp Karijini (BLD)

Day 3 - Karijini NP
An early start for our final hike along the top of Dales Gorge, down to Circular Pool, on to Fortesque Falls and finishing with a refreshing swim at Fern Pool. Leaving Karijini behind, we head north through Port Hedland, checking out the enormous piles of iron ore and salt. We head to Indee Station for our overnight camp. (BLD)

Day 4 - Eighty Mile Beach to Broome
Today we pass through Port Hedland, then the Great Sandy Desert to Eighty Mile Beach for a quick swim. We arrive at Broome in the afternoon to visit Cable Beach and watch the sunset. (BL)
