ITINERARY

Day 1 - Broome to Indee Station
Departing Broome we cross the Great Sandy Desert, calling in at the coastal oasis of Eighty Mile Beach where we may have time for a quick swim in the turquoise water and a chance to collect some unique seashells. Travelling further south through Port Hedland checking out the enormous piles of iron ore and salt, we set up camp at Indee Station a remote sheep and cattle property. Tonight, sample some traditional Aussie damper baked in the hot coals of our campfire. (LD)

Day 2 - Karijini NP
This morning we make our way to the remote but spectacular Karijini National Park where we spend the next 3 days exploring the ancient gorges and swimming in emerald coloured rock pools. The Karijini experience is all about adventure and after lunch, we lace up our hiking boots and walk down to Fern Pool, passing through Circular Pool, Dales Gorge and Fortesque Falls, where you will be rewarded with a refreshing swim. Overnight camp in Karijini (BLD)

Day 3 - Karijini NP & Miracle Mile
We start the day at Oxer Lookout, checking out Junction Pool where 4 gorges meet. We then take on the challenge of the ‘The Miracle Mile’. This adventurous hike includes inching your way over ledges, squeezing through deep chasms eroded billions of years ago, climbing banded iron rock walls and swimming in fresh water rock pools and takes us through Hancock Gorge, Weano Gorge and Junction Pool. In the afternoon we give our legs a well-earned rest and visit the Karijini Cultural Centre, which is full of local and Aboriginal information. Overnight camp in Karijini (BLD)

Day 4 - Karijini NP - Pilbara - Exmouth
Up early for a hike into beautiful Joffre Gorge, an unusually carved wall forming a natural amphitheatre. After the rain, you may be lucky enough to see the almost 100 metre waterfall cascading down the rock face. Leaving Karijini behind, we call in at the unique mining town of Tom Price before travelling through the vast bush land of the Pilbara region on our way to Exmouth and the Ningaloo Reef, where we arrive in the early evening.
