ITINERARY

Day 1 - Darwin to Mary River

We travel to Fogg Dam Nature Reserve and enjoy a wetlands walk viewing a variety of birds and reptiles before heading to Annaburroo Billabong for lunch and a refreshing swim. We follow a dirt road through the pristine Mary River Wetlands, passing scenic billabongs and sensational areas for bird and wildlife viewing, on our way to our afternoon crocodile cruise. We arrive at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge for our overnight camp and enjoy an Aboriginal Corroborree, learning about the local culture and way of life. (LD)

Day 2 - Mary River to Kakadu

We call in at Mamukala Wetlands then head to the awesome Jim Jim Falls located deep within striking escarpment country where we enjoy a walk to the base of the falls enjoying the tranquillity of this beautiful area. We continue on to Twin Falls - swimming up the striking gorge to the cascading waterfall where you can relax on the sandy bank. We drive on to Jabiru for a delicious dinner and our overnight camp. Day 3 - Kakadu to Darwin

Our first stop is Ubirr, an area rich in Aboriginal history with spectacular views of the surrounding country. Here we learn about ancient rock art depicting Dreamtime beliefs dating back an estimated 20,000 years. We pass through more beautiful wetland areas on our journey to Barramundi Gorge (Maguk), where we do some hiking and enjoy a refreshing dip in the plunge pools. We then return to Darwin, enjoying the impressive scenery along the way. (BL)
